Glasgow Underground have unveiled a new compilation to celebrate its twenty years being at the forefront of cutting edge music in the Scottish scene. Curated by label owner Kevin McKay, Underground Sound of Glasgow is filled with exclusive cuts from label affiliates and the finest Glaswegian newcomers. Compiled of 15 tracks, the impressive collection of work features tracks from Hammer, JD Twitch, Jasper James, Ceol, Auntie Flo and Kevin McKay himself. Encapsulating the sound of a city across the broad and diverse musical selection, the album takes in influence from the nugroove, italo house and balearic beats that Kevin fell in love with from his experiences at Sub Club. NEW RELEASES Moudaber returns to the UK for a rare live performance. Big tune from one of techno's most prolific names. Playing at Richie Hawtin's Play Differently party at Printworks in London. Moudaber's live show will also coincide with her celebration of 50 releases on the MOOD label. The first celebratory release is a special re-release and remix package of 'See You Next Tuesday', her 2014 collaboration with longtime friend and legendary DJ, Carl Cox. Remixers for the EP are out on December 1st, which will include Black Asteroid, Danny Tenaglia, Raxon, Solardo, Truncate and Trunkline who will each give their own spin on one of MOOD Records' most popular releases. Later that month, Nicole also releases a commemorative compilation album, Mood50: The Best of Mood, mixed and compiled by Nicole Moudaber on December 15th. Mood50 also features tracks from Pan-Pot, Scuba, Victor Calderone, and Skin from popular rock band Skunk Anansie. They run the acclaimed Soma imprint, are on the road pretty much all the time hitting the biggest clubs and run one of Scotland's biggest techno parties, Pressure. It's fair to say that Slam well and truly sit along techno's elite, and have done for a very long time. It's been a bigger year than usual for them as their Soma celebrates a massive 25 years in the game. The label's been firing out the tunes this year from artists; Rebekah, Edit Select & Deepchord. October saw the Slam boys add fuel to Soma's fire, dropping their latest EP, Sanctuary. All four tracks are mad but special hats off to 'Rotation', a relentless, serious, heads-down techno that'll trash the floors.
