12 • RV PRO • January 2018 rv-pro.com K-Z Sportster 301THR K-Z has revamped its Sportster line of toy haulers with five travel trailer models and six fifth wheels, but perhaps none stands out as much as the 301THR for getting the most out of its allotted space. The 301THR, which is 34 feet long, includes a 15-foot cargo area that has a 90-inch interior height and 102-inch width, making it capable of handling even the four-seat Polaris RZR that is increasing in popularity among outdoor enthusiasts. That doesn't mean the Sportster is all hat and no cattle – or all garage and no comfort. In this case, a well-located kitchen counter and sink separate the garage area from the rest of the trailer and a large kitchen slide-out makes even the living area seem spacious. "The popular thing has been the open concept of it," says Brent Froman, product manager for K-Z towables. "The 15-foot cargo area is huge as are the ceiling heights. Then having the kitchen slide bumps out to add more usable space. Sometimes toy haulers are a little claustrophobic, but this gives you more usable space. It feels nice in here." Even the cargo area of the Sportster offers more comfort than the average toy hauler. Since the garage is 15 feet long, there is room not only for HappiJack bunks, but also an addi- tional sleeping area. The lower bunk in the rear of the coach doesn't just fold into two sofas, but it folds into two sofas that also include a fold-down middle section with cup holders. These sofas fold up against the wall when not needed to make the most space available for toys. "The Sit & Sleep system is versatile to accommodate your toys and can go flat against the wall to allow your taller toys to come in," Froman says. In the living area, the kitchen features upgraded countertops, an under-mount sink, upgraded faucet, a recessed oven with a range and an 8-cubic-foot refrigerator. The bedroom includes a queen-size bed with storage cubbies under the bed. Sportster carries an MSRP of $31,893. What impressed RV PRO: With a 15-foot cargo area 90-inch interior height and 102-inch width, K-Z has made a toy hauler that can handle just about anything. Sportster also offers six fifth wheel models. All of this is backed with K-Z's standard two-year hitch-to-bumper warranty. S H O W C O V E R A G E S H O W C O V E R A G E The K-Z Sportster is a solid, well-built travel trailer toy hauler with a 15-foot garage that checks in at a lower price point than many toy haulers with similar space. A kitchen slide- out keeps the living quarters from feeling claustrophobic.
