36 • RV PRO • January 2018 rv-pro.com REV Group Renegade Valencia 38BB REV Group's Renegade RV division has a proud history of making some of the finest Super C motorhomes on the market today. With MSRPs on many of those units starting at $300,000 and up, the motorhomes tend to draw from a select group of potential customers. However, for 2018, Renegade hopes to tap into a somewhat bigger pool of consumers with the launch of the Valencia – its new entry-level offering in the Super C market. Notably, the Valencia is built on the first Super C chassis designed specifically for the RV industry – the S2RV from Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. Kevin Erdman, Renegade director of sales and marketing, says the S2RV chassis – with a gross vehicle weight rating of 31,000 pounds – has a number of advantages over commercial truck chassis that are modified for RV use. These include the fact that the S2RV chassis cab is modified to sit closer to the ground and ride more smoothly than a truck chassis would, he says. At the same time, the coach still offers users plenty of power, thanks to its 6.7-liter Cummins ISB engine, offering 360-horse- power and 800 pounds per feet of torque. The coach features an Allison 3000MH six-speed automatic transmission with electric push shifter. Erdman says Valencia offers true 10,000- pound towing capacity. Notable exterior features include full-body paint available in three decors, frameless windows, a Carefree of Colorado lateral awning with LED lights, an Equalizer fully automatic four-point hydraulic leveling system and an exterior entertainment center with a 32-inch LED TV. The Valencia 38BB is equipped with two slide-outs in the living room, which house a dinette setting and a sofa, and a third slide in the rear bedroom area that houses bunk beds and the dresser space as well as closet space. The motorhome comes standard with plenty of nice amenities, including a 19-cubic-foot Whirlpool residential-style refrigerator and other stainless-steel appliances, solid cherry hardwood cabinets, and solid-surface countertops. There is a 40-inch LED TV in the living area and a 32-inch LED TV in the bedroom. The Valencia 38BB's king-size bed, overhead bunk, con- vertible dinette and sofa and two bunk beds can sleep up to nine people. The MSRP for the Valencia 38BB starts about $235,000. What impressed RV PRO: While this newcomer from Ren- egade represents the new entry point for a Super C, it doesn't feel in the slightest like a "de-contented" version of one of the RV maker's premium motorhomes. And if customers do want some additional upgrades, like a stackable washer/dryer, those are easy to add in. The amount of sleeping space is impressive. The unit comes nicely furnished with residential-style appliances.
