Italian group Jaxx Madicine make their debut release on Swedish label Local Talk. Jaxx Madicine is made up of artists Turbojazz, Parker Madicine and jazz keyboardist Veez_0 who individually, have previously featured on labels such as BBE Music, Heist and CT-HI Records. With analogue production at its core, their recent LP Distant Classic has a rich and warm sound, with sequenced percussion and live instrumentation. Soulful and intricate this exceptional album is a fine blend of house music and nu jazz. There are techno producers who unilaterally and unequivocally create thick basslines and fat kicks. Then there's producers like AWB. London's getting a fresh new venue that's primed to propel itself to the very heart of London's clubbing scene. GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: AWB E1 is the name of a new club that'll boost the city's nightlife with a cutting edge back to basics venue. The former factory is being transformed into a massive musical space, with the team behind it dedicated to bringing a wide-ranging program of music from across the world. Sitting on Pennington Street in the heart of East London, E1 looks primed to become a serious player in London's clubland. After months of preparations, the team behind the venue announced their massive opening party. Taking place on New Year's Eve and clocking up a total run time of 27 hours, it's fair to say E1 setting things off in the biggest way possible. Helping to break in this new venue is a mouth- watering line-up travelling across melodic electronica through to grinding techno with Ame, Mano Le Tough, Blawan & Matrixxman locked and still more to be announced. This looks like a sick new venue for the city, and is sure to cause a stir. The Paris-based artist does not neglect the darkest side of rave music, and his residency at Blocaus, one of the biggest techno nights in France, is clear evidence of this. Nevertheless, the producer's latest release features a palette of sounds that somehow transcend the genre-specific boundaries he inhabits. The track 'Lackadaisical' with its delicate melodies and broken beats will impress techno heads and IDM lovers alike, making this tune prime material for DJs on closing duties.
