The Baron of Techno is back with the third studio album of his long career. Dave Clarke, named the Baron of Techno by John Peel, is one of the UK's most respected and cherished producers. His career spans three decades and includes a massive back catalogue of classic tunes, the hugely successful White Noise radio show and a list of artists he's remixed that's long and diverse. 14 years since his last album, Devil's Advocate, Clarke has released his next album; The Desecration of Desire. A ten tracked story that Clarke admits is his first fully formed musical vision as he wants it. He explains "I decided to write it as I would a book, so the track order you have was also the order in which they were also written, like chapters". It's a show stopping piece of work that pulls you deeper with each track. Clarke's undeniable knack for producing incredible and emotive music is really prevalent throughout the album. Dave hasn't geared this to a techno sound, rather he explored the various sounds and styles he likes that has meant this album includes "some delightful, intelligent and deep people" who've inspired him. NEW RELEASES Fabric announce a new party to join their event series, Forms. Four Tet confirms his remixing genius in latest single. It'll be a new fortnightly party that will showcase the best in house music, adding another musical branch to Fabric's huge line ups. Running alongside the fabriclive parties, Forms will take over Fabric every other Friday, kicking off with a massive opening party on 19th January that'll feature sets from Skream, &Me and more. So far only four parties have been announced in the new year, though already they've got sets locked in from serious house royalty. Detlef & Cristoph are set to be joined by a special guest headliner on 16th February, while Kaliki gets a showcase the week before. Also announced was a mammoth b2b sesh with Kolsch & Michael Mayer whilst Monki & Friends takeover room 2 in March. Line ups for the Forms parties can also be found on the Fabric website. Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith has recently spoiled her listeners with brilliant, suggestive soundscapes and warm vocals in her latest full-length album The Kid. One of the tracks taken off the LP, 'I Will Make Room For You', has been picked up by Kieran Hebden aka Four Tet for a remix. Hebden has masterfully revised many great artists, including electronica demi-god Aphex Twin. This tune shows, once again, Four Tet's ability to enhance existing lines and melodies with washed out, psychedelic noises and groovy rhythms. It's a track that confirms his ingenuity and will make even the most club-music skeptics wave their heads and shoulders in approval.
