Spanish label Metro Dance Records recently dropped a new EP, Space Odissey, from Point Sole who's previously put out music on imprints such as Suara, Solar Distance and Roush. Fans of Point Sole will already be familiar with his melodic sound and this new release showcases the more quirky sound of his style. With one of the original track's 'Don't Touch The Hole' having a very distinctive sound that more than lives up to its tongue in cheek title. 'Don't Touch The Hole' is propelled by its dancefloor focused acid bassline, and has a very contrasting, almost disco synth as its prominent sound, which is layered over the vocal that gives the track it's title. On paper, it might sound hard to imagine, but this track is a perfectly executed masterpiece that needs to be heard. The lead track from the release is 'Space Odissey' which like its title suggests is a cosmic journey of epic proportions, and also features a stunning remix from Luna City Express' producer Norman Weber who puts his own stamp on things, with the addition of a Rhodes piano and an arpeggiated bassline. NEW RELEASES Glitterbox returns to the White Isle this summer. Raised on Persian musical influences, Uppermost's music background inspired his interest in formulating addictive melodies and chords. After smashing their debut year in Ibiza, with an insane 16 date residency at Hï Ibiza, Glitterbox well and truly put themselves on the map. The party fired out 21st-century disco featuring classic dance records, uplifting house and only the freshest disco cuts. The soundtrack was only the half of it, as star- studded lineups and flamboyant performers reined free across their residency in 2017. Following their season in Ibiza, Glitterbox as a brand has exploded. Hogging the number 1 spot for iTunes' music podcasts, touring across the world and selling out shows months in advance at venues and releasing tunes from The Shapeshifters, Aeroplane & Mousse T. After such success, it's only right for them to return to Hï Ibiza this season. Taking over the island's hottest new venue on Friday between June the 1st and September 28th with the exception of August 3rd. No lineups as of yet, though we really don't need to see them as Glitterbox has proved its worth. This passion has since seen the artist produce hit tracks like 'Flashback' and 'Beautiful Light', which has already generated him more than 27 million combined streams His recent release of a 23-track career-spanning collection titled Origins (2011-2016) was a showcase of his French-wave touch, liquid disco grooves and penchant for molten guitar funk. The featured vocalist on his latest track 'Step by Step' is emerging songstress Sôra who is influenced by a wide array of genres, including jazz, rock & soul. Uppermost's 'Step by Step' is the perfect channel for Sôra's sultry vocals, which sway seductively with the melody. A methodical producer's flow meets silken vocal stylings on this slowed down stunner. Speaking of 'Step By Step' Uppermost says: "The great thing about a collaboration is that it gives the opportunity for two different moods and artistic worlds to meet in a track. With 'Step by Step', I tried to convey a mesmerizing and hypnotic energy..." NEWS: GLITTERBOX ARE BACK AT HÏ IBIZA FOR 2018!
