GUESTLIST RECOMMENDS: MYRIAD 2, STRAIGHT UP FIRE FROM THE SUB-LIMINAL CAMP 44 ISSUE 106 / 2018 East London's finest, Soulvent Records announces its birthday bash. Sub-Liminal Recordings has been battering the scene consistently since its inception two and half years ago. Headed by Agro, Sub-Liminal has been circuiting straight up fire from it's crack team of bass heads. Rounding off 2017, the imprint released their second edition of Myriad. Mixed by label regular Too Greezey and features 19 cuts of the sickest low swingers. Tearing its way across several styles, expect upfront jump up chaos with tracks like Nectax & Scudd's 'Trouble Riddim VIP' and Agro's 'Timbuk Tu'. Getting murky, Mentah & Tyrant get dark in their VIP mix of 'Jungle Animal' while Guzi & Woolf take it easy in their low-end rumbler 'Reflections'. Myriad by name, a myriad of quality. The East London's liquid soul warriors of Soulvent Records have given themselves more than enough excuses to celebrate. Their label, established back in 2014 started as an avenue for showcasing music for friends and peers, has since grown into a force of its own and become a marker for quality liquid tunes. Four years down the line and the imprint has dropped over 140 tracks across 36 releases from artists li GLXY, BMotion & Pola & Bryson. Soulvent Records has gone from strength to strength, so it's only right that they're throwing a mad party on April 6th up in North London's Work Bar to mark out their success. Expect Soulvent regulars and label friends to pass through to drink to their past and toast to their future. No details on the line up just yet, though expect some big names to be coming through ALBUM OF THE MONTH: HOSPITAL REBOOTING THEIR SICK MUSIC SERIES The much loved Hospital Records just gave us even more reason to love them and that is the return of Sick Music. The first of the series landed back in 2009 and had a follow up in 2010. Both showcased a range of artists from Camo & Krooked, Sigma and Reso along with the hospital regulars, though a third never followed. Now after six years Hospital Records has decided to bring forward the third Sick Music album. Mirroring the successful formula of the previous editions, Sick Music 2018 is packed full of exclusive cuts from artists across the board. Hospital staples such as Logistics, Danny Byrd and Reso have contributed along with the scenes biggests names from John B to Kings of the Rollers. Clocking up to 25 tracks, the quality here doesn't slide. Rugged bass thrusters including Whiney's 'Sleek' and the debut Kings of the Rollers record 'Burnt Ends' hammer the playlist, while things turn jungly in Danny Byrd's 'Devil Drop' and Shadow Child's mental remix of Justin Martin & Leroy's 'Riding Spaceships'. It wouldn't be a Hospital album without the sweet sounds of liquid and that style is on full display with amazing cuts from Hugh Hardie, Implish, Battery X Makoto and loads more. Sick Music is back and bigger than ever before.
