Are you on Windows 8? SINGAPORE – So you’ve made a few plans to spend Christmas elsewhere in the world and you did a search on a platform that offers you a multitude of flight options. Then it struck you. Crazy, endless data fields for you to enter – just to find the best deal for your holiday! Sounds familiar? Perhaps it’s time to ease your flight search troubles away with Skyscanner’s latest app that has a built in free text search, upping up the ante on the flexibility front. Ever had that self-questioning moment when you discovered your thumb or index finger seems to have malfunctioned simply because the app you’re using is not exactly mobile friendly or insists on having you fill in data fields for what’s supposed to be a fuss-free one step process? Well now you can input text such as “Flight to France next Sunday, back two weeks later” and actually get an answer for that – thanks to Skyscanner’s thought research and development to enhance the user experience, making searches more intuitive, faster and let’s face it – a more pleasant experience. And what about those few days’ range of flight availability and prices projected on your screen after that tedious round of keying in your details? Not much of a help, is it? Constantly keying in the next three or five days to check on your desired flights and pricing may get frustrating after a while, simply because it gets tiring to have to repeat the same procedure over and over again. What helps perhaps, is a range of destination across a whole month or a year, that’s available for you to make your decision. At a glance, you’re offered the possible time and flight prices, to choose at your own convenience. Skyscanner’s travel search app that’s now available on Windows 8 allows its users to find the cheapest flights while on the move and has already received over 11 million downloads. It is also available in a range of languages across Asia including Chinese, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai and Vietnamese. Skyscanner tells us that the most popular destination search done by users is the ‘Anywhere’ option which allows them to browse through all destinations in order of price, giving them the flexibility and choices to think through their planned travels on places to visit, in any week, month or year. Besides that, the app is also able to let users pin and track flight searches to their desktop through live tiles, which are updated daily, to find the best prices to a range of destinations across a whole month or a year. We like that it’s smart and of course, it’s free. Available in over 25 languages, the app is downloaded every five seconds all over the world. Available on the iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and now, on devices running on Windows 8.
