S I G N & D I G I T A L G R A P H I C S • June 2018 • 13 FASTSIGNS Franchise to Expand into Chile Carrollton, Texas-based sign shop franchisor FASTSIGNS International Inc. announces the signing of a master franchise agreement that will have it into expanding into Chile. Under the agreement, Chilean signage company NEOMARK will convert its full-service sign shop in Santiago, that country's capital, to a FASTSIGNS and then open five additional shops elsewhere in that city. In addition, NEOMARK plans to target additional growth in some of Chile's other largest cities, including Iquique, Antofagasta, Viña del Mar, Concepción and Temuco. "Although we are a family company with many years in the graphics industry, we can always be better. FASTSIGNS showed us that they are able to help us and strengthen our business to take it to the next level, with growth potential even outside our country," says Gonzalo Alcayaga Granic, owner of NEOMARK. "This is just the beginning of what is planned for FASTSIGNS' expansion throughout Latin America," says Mark Jameson, executive vice president of franchise support and development for FASTSIGNS International. "We're aggressively target- ing franchise development in Mexico and Brazil and in other countries throughout Central and South America." StereoVision Imaging Acquires Digital Signal Corporation Pasadena, California-based StereoVision Imaging Inc., a developer of facial recognition technology used in a variety of settings, including retail environments, announces its acquisition of Chantilly, Virginia-based Digital Signal Corp., which specializes in long-range 3D facial recognition technology. According to StereoVision, the purchase is part of a strategy to enhance and diversify its current product slate. In the case of Direct Signal Corp., it will allow it to expand its reach in the law enforce- ment, homeland security and military markets. The company says it recently received a large investment of capital that allowed it to make the acquisition.
