rv-pro.com June 2018 • RV PRO • 83 Sheffer: You can point to the sales of RVs and the shipment of RVs into the state. As far as units sold, we're consistently in the top four in the country – only behind California and Texas and we tie with Florida. We have a strong dealer network in the state and one of the largest family-owned RV dealerships in the country: General RV. We've had to be strong to support the volume that we see in the RV and campground industry. RV PRO: Anything else you would want to let people know about MARVAC? Sheffer: We established an education foundation scholarship called the Harvest Foundation almost 20 years ago. It's been very successful. People make donations and we raise money through a golf outing every year. We've given almost $300,000 in scholarships over the last 20 years to students who have a connection to the industry, whether they or their mom or dad worked for an RV dealer or worked in a camp- ground or whatever. We'v e b e e n v e r y fortunate to do that. I t 's o u r c h a r i t a b l e contribution back to the community. It's called the Harvest Foundation. And we actually renamed our golf outing to honor Tim (the asso- ciation's former executive director), so it's called the Tim De witt Har vest Classic Outing. Sheffer (left) is pictured with MARVAC members Bill Lettinga, Ken Monicatti and Ed Klim at a Harvest Foundation golf outing. The golf tournament, which MARVAC has hosted for many years, has generated nearly $300,000 in scholarships for students with a connection to the RV industry in Michigan. dicor products vixen composites seal design united shade THE AFTERMARKET IS NOT AN AFTERTHOUGHT Airxcel has one of the largest distribution and dealer networks in the entire RV industry, supported by the most qualified and seasoned sales force of any industry.
