Previously restricted to states west of the Mississippi, this label now allows the product to be eligible for registration in all states. Torac provides fast, broad-spectrum control of potato psyllid, Colorado potato beetle, aphids, leafhoppers and thrips. The active ingredient, tolfenpyrad, blocks cellular respiration and is effective on all life stages of the pest. For effective resistance management, Torac should be used in rotation with insecticides of different modes of action. It is a contact foliar insecticide with a 12- hour re-entry interval and a 14-day pre-harvest interval. Use on potatoes is contingent on each state's approval. Spectrum Temperature Inversion Monitors Agrible, Inc. has launched an improved Spectrum Technologies' latest solution matches proven products with the issue of off-target herbicide movement through drift and/or temperature inversion. Today's growers and professional applicators have unprecedented complexities, requirements and liabilities when it comes to applying herbicide. Today's product labels for dicamba have very specific requirements, restricting applications to a narrow window of conditions. "Temperature inversion" is a new term to dicamba product labels; it refers to increasing temperature with altitude. This scenario can cause droplets to suspend in the air and potentially move off- target. Spectrum has configured various products to monitor and record this condition to inform and give applicators confidence in their application. By measuring temperature near the ground and at 10 feet, applicators can easily determine the presence of an inversion. Contact Spectrum Technolgies at www. specmeters.com. Kuhn Krause Interceptor 8050 The Interceptor 8050 is Kuhn Krause's high-speed tillage solution for controlling troublesome chemical-resistant weeds and a whole lot more. Two parallel rows of 22-inch- diameter by 32-flute Excalibur CT (conservation tillage) shallow concavity blades size and evenly distribute tough residue into the profile of worked soil. A six-bolt hub mount secures each blade to individual blade arms formed with compound angles to direct soil and residue flow. A single row of heavy-duty, adjustable 30-inch tines are mounted directly behind the front row of the blades, forcing "airborne" material downward into the field surface. Adjustable, constant-flow hydraulic wing down pressure allows the Interceptor to maintain consistent soil penetration across the working width while operating at higher field speeds—a first step toward accurate planter seed placement. The Interceptor is available in 20-, 25-, and 30-foot sizes. Contact Kuhn Krause at (800) 957-2873 or www.kuhnnorthamerica.com.
