ERROL LIM, COFOUNDER AND COO, JUBLIA ERROL LIM, COFOUNDER AND COO, JUBLIA JUBLIA: THE BUSINESS CREATOR At the heart of the MICE industry lies the face-to-face interaction that makes it so important whether it's a meeting, conference or exhibition. For three University of Singapore students on a scholarship programme, they found that people attending events needed help in networking eectively. What started out as matchmaking for events provided the inspiration for an event planning tool that led to the birth of MICE technology start-up Jublia in 2013. In ve years, Jublia has been the sprint king in creating quality business matching opportunities for over 1,000 events including the likes of Singapore Airshow, World Future Energy Summit and the World Islamic Economic Forum. In 2015, they launched the world's rst end-to-end business matching solution for events: Match 360º is today a leading product in the industry. This year, they also launched its Fully Branded Event app. INDUSTRY IMPACT "Events are cited by marketers as generating the most quality leads when compared to other channels. However, with the high cost-per-lead, they are also considered one of the most expensive channels. As the industry progresses, there is a heightened focus on event ROI which is clearly seen in the tightening of marketing budgets. This puts pressure on event organisers to achieve measurable ROI for their customers. JUBLIA puts the power to engineer the attendees' ROI in the hands of event organisers by working closely with them to design and build a fully functioning networking ecosystem for their events," says Co-founder and COO Errol Lim. Jublia adopts a three-pronged approach that focuses on providing global solutions available in localised TIPS FOR PLANNERS • Adopt different points of view from each customer segment and prioritise their basic needs. • Leave it to the specialists to build and develop technologies. • Do not be seduced by the latest craze or jargon. • Adopt new event initiatives only when they are validated by past successes languages; a technology-rst approach that helps organisers harness and scale business-matching programmes; and consultative servicing that provides customers with analytical data and continual feedback. Jublia was the winner for Best Event Service Provider at Singapore Tourism Awards 2018. They were also recently selected to participate in the K-Startup Grand Challenge, an acceleration programme organised by NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency) in South Korea. jublia.com
