  OLYMPIC SPORTS BASEBALL (31-11 OVERALL, 11-3 BIG TEN) Junior left-handed pitcher Tommy Henry is a midseason candidate for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top amateur baseball player in the country … As of April 29, he had a 7-3 record with a 2.61 ERA and 75 strikeouts … U-M was on an eight- game winning streak through April 29 and stood first in the conference … The Wolverines were listed No. 22 nationally by Collegiate Baseball, No. 24 by Perfect Game and No. 26 by the NCBWA. WOMEN'S GOLF Freshman Ashley Lau received a bid to the 2019 NCAA East Lansing Regional, becoming the fourth U-M golfer to earn an NCAA individual selection and the first since Ashley Bauer in 2010 … Se- nior Elodie Van Dievoet tied for fifth at the Big Ten Championship, helping the Wolverines finish seventh at the event. WOMEN'S LACROSSE (15-2 OVERALL, 4-2 BIG TEN) Senior goalie Mira Shane is a nominee for the Tewaaraton Award, which goes to the top player in the country … Se- nior attack Adriana Pendino set U-M's single-season record for goals scored with 36 … As of April 29, Michigan was the No. 7 team in the nation according to Inside Lacrosse. ROWING U-M's first varsity four has won Big Ten Boat of the Week three times this season … The Wolverines have victo- ries over seven ranked programs … As of April 30, U-M was the No. 5 team in the nation according to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/US Row- ing Coaches poll. SOFTBALL (37-11 OVERALL, 19-1 BIG TEN) Senior second baseman Faith Canfield is a finalist for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award … She was the only Big Ten representative among the finalists … Rookie outfielder Lexie Blair is a finalist for the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Freshman of the Year award … She earned her third Big Ten Fresh- man of the Week award April 22 … As of April 30, Michigan was second in the Big Ten behind Northwestern with the conference tournament taking place May 10-11 … The Wolverines were ranked No. 22 in the country in the USA Today/NFCA poll as of April 29. MEN'S TENNIS (17-8 OVERALL, 7-4 BIG TEN) Freshman Andrew Fenty was named first-team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year, becoming the fourth Wolverine to earn the award … He defeated No. 1-ranked JJ Wolf of Ohio State, giving Wolf his first loss of the season in the Big Ten semifinals … However, Michigan fell to No. 1 Ohio State 4-2 … U-M received an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament … The Wolverines have gone to four straight NCAA Tournaments … As of April 29, Michigan was ranked No. 22 nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Associa- tion (ITA). WOMEN'S TENNIS (18-5 OVERALL, 11-0 BIG TEN) The Wolverines won their second straight Big Ten Tournament title April 28, defeating Illinois 4-1 … U-M's title earned them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament … Senior Kate Fa- hey has tied Emina Bektas for first on Michigan's all-time victories list with 129 … Michigan also won the regular- season Big Ten championship with an 11-0 conference record … That marked U-M's eighth regular-season conference championship in the last 10 years … The Wolverines were ranked No. 17 na- tionally by the ITA as of April 29, and will host first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament May 3-4 … U-M is also sending three athletes to the NCAA Singles Championship for the first time ever. MEN'S TRACK & FIELD Fifth-year senior Jack Lint was named the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week April 10 after winning the Arizona Jim Click Shootout decathlon with a career- best score of 7,596 points … His score ranked No. 1 in the Big Ten, No. 4 in the NCAA and No. 7 in the world for the 2019 outdoor season at the time it occurred. WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD Sophomore distance runner Alice Hill was named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week April 24 after finishing fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Stanford Cardinal Classic … Her time of 10:04.58 was the best of any Big Ten women in the event this year, and ranked No. 6 in the NCAA East Region and No. 9 nationally as of April 20 … Sophomore Chloe Foster was Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week April 17 after she won the 400-meter hurdles at the Louisville Invitational. WATER POLO (23-8 OVERALL, 6-0 CWPA) Michigan won its fourth straight Col- legiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) championship by defeating No. 15 Princeton 10-6 April 28 … The senior class became U-M's first to win straight titles … Senior attacker Julia Sellers earned CWPA Tournament MVP honors after scoring three goals in two straight games … Freshman Abby Andrews was the CWPA Rookie of the Tournament … Sellers and Andrews were both named first-team CWPA All-Tournament along with junior goalie Heidi Ritner and ju- nior Maddy Steere … The Wolverines earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament … U-M was set to face No. 3 UCLA in the quarterfinals May 10 … The Wolverines were ranked No. 6 in the nation by CWPA as of April 29 … Steere was named CWPA Player of the Year, while Andrews was named the league's top rookie. Senior attacker Julia Sellers was tabbed as the CWPA Tournament MVP after lead- ing the Wolverines to their fourth straight title by scoring six goals in wins over Harvard and Princeton.
