COMPILED BY WILL CHIN R osewood Hong Kong opened its Harbourfront doors in March, with Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon's dynamic cultural heart, as its neighbourhood. This marks Rosewood Hotels & Resorts' 26th international property. The 65-floor hotel comes with 322 guest rooms and 91 suites. Its 18 signature suites, in particular, enjoy wraparound Victoria Harbour views from their private sky terraces on the 57th floor. In terms of meetings, Rosewood Hong Kong has 3,200sqm of space, as well as one of Hong Kong's most exclusive private garden venues with a view of the Victoria Harbour. There are also social spaces on the third floor of the hotel, which in turn frames the 1,000sqm Grand Ballroom. Finally, the 1,000sqm Pavilion on the fourth floor is a residential-style event space, which is perfect for private meetings and events. Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2. Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 TaiNEX 2 opens on a high The Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2, known as TaiNEX 2, officially opened its doors on March 4, 2019. The new addition is much welcomed for Taipei's growing MICE capacity. Costing an estimated US$240 million, the 156,700sqm venue includes two exhibition halls and six conference spaces, including a convention hall for 3,600 people and an outdoor sky garden. "An estimated 20% of the MICE industry is in exhibitions, generating about US$200 million out of the one-trillion-dollar MICE industry," remarked David Dubois, president and CEO of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events at the opening ceremony in March. In combination with the existing capacity in Hall 1, TaiNEX is now the largest exhibition venue in the country, with a total of more than 5,000 booths and 38 meeting rooms in the capital.
