14 IDAHO FALLS MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER2019 The sounds of fall in Teton Valley are busting with wild and stuffed full of color. There's the trickle of blue river water, the flicker of gold aspen leaves and the ruckus of that big gray bird…or is it orange? The answer depends on what the greater sandhill crane decides to wear while mingling with its mate at the great migration party. We humans know it as the Greater Yellowstone Crane Festival hosted by Teton Regional Land Trust in September. "Cranes are conservation reliant," says Bill Dell'Isola, Teton Regional Land Trust conser- vation biologist. "Without galvanizing community support, our efforts wouldn't be com- plete at all.
