SCORE Mourns The Loss Of Robbie Pierce After a tragic accident while scuba diving, the off-road motorsports industry has lost Robbie Pierce. Inducted into the Off Road Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2018, Pierce has had a long history of racing, but is also well known as being an advocate for safety, an innovator, and entrepreneur. Prior to his racing career Pierce worked in aerospace and had a reputation as an expert welder. Later he did fabrication work for MasterCraft Safety and as he became involved in off-road, his mission became to keeping racers safe. He later became CEO of MasterCraft Safety, purchasing it in 1999 and later grew the company to include the purchase of Impact Racing from Bill Simpson in 2010. Pierce’s knowledge and testing led to innovations in racing helmets, restraints, driving suits, gloves, racing shoes and many more products for racers. Pierce sold Impact to Sparco in 2017 and purchased Jimco Racing to develop modern buggy chassis and race cars that have led to many off-road racing team victories and championships. Over his career, Pierce has donated safety products to many racers, pit organizations, series and sanctioning bodies that did not have the budget to get the best equipment. As an avid Baja racer, he has also donated time and money to orphanages in Baja, and financially supports Rancho Sordo Mundo, a school for the deaf in Baja. The off-road racing industry and community of racers and fans, will miss Pierce and his contributions to the sport.
