courts, an indoor jogging track, sports simulators and more than 29,000 square feet of fitness space. "There are a lot of unique spaces in this place that have really impressed people," Riggins said. "There's just so much going on, and I think people have been really blown away. One of the things that's particularly exciting is our rink— Sub- Zero Ice Center —which is located right inside Bakke." Riggins believes the rink's location will increase its visibility and get more people on the ice. "With our old rink, a lot of the students on campus didn't really know that it exist- ed," Riggins said. "I think by having the rink in this new and exciting well-known facility, it'll expose people to the rink that weren't previously exposed." Elevating the experience The bright and airy Sub-Zero Ice Center features four locker rooms and seating for 270. "We actually have opaque windows in our rink that let light inside, which is new for us," Riggins said. "They're very unique in that they let light in, but the glass helps diffuse that light, so it doesn't melt the ice. It provides a nice glow of natural light without causing any issues with the ice surface." And when the sun goes down, the rink's multicolored LED lights can shine a festive glow during theme nights or special events. When it comes to sustainability, Sub- Zero Ice Center is doing its part to reduce energy waste. The heat exchangers in the compressor room are used to melt the snow pit, which means the heat that's gen- erated from cooling the floor isn't wasted. "The heat exchanger also helps heat our pool, so that's a part of our overall effort to be sustainable," Riggins said. "I think "WE STRIVE TO MAINTAIN A REALLY CLEAN AND NICE ENVIRONMENT, AND WE TRY TO HAVE A REALLY FRIENDLY STAFF, SO THAT ANYBODY WHO WALKS IN FEELS WELCOME."
