Welcome! Welcome to SXSW Eco 2013! SXSW Eco connects the innovators working to solve the complex challenges facing civil society, the economy and the natural world. With three days comprised of 120+ sessions and 350+ speakers from around the United States and other countries, this third year of SXSW Eco also includes many special events to network with your colleagues and to create new collaborations which will shape the future. In this third installation of SXSW Eco, we have added some new exciting elements including: the SXSW Eco Exhibition, the SXSW Eco Awards Show, the Place By Design public space competition, Workshops, Mentor Sessions and Continuing Education Credits. We are also proud to be hosted this year by the LEED® Gold certified Austin Convention Center. We are eager for your feedback, so please take time to respond to our survey which we will send to everyone upon conclusion of the event ... or just grab one of our staff members to speak personally. Over these next days of SXSW Eco, we encourage you to participate fully, learn greatly and enjoy yourself immensely. We are so excited that you are here. With sincere thanks for your participation, Scott Wilcox Director of SXSW Eco sxsweco.com 2 SXSW Eco | October 7-9, 2013 | sxsweco.com SXSW & Sustainability At SXSW, we constantly strive to find solutions that minimize the environmental impacts of our operations and events.
