feature 32 Houseboatmagazine.com ties in well with the flow of the design. All the woodwork and trim are stained to match. Also worth noting is the Opera Gold granite counter tops that appear throughout the boat as well as the out- standing tile work, with the pattern incor- porated into the overall flow of the design. Floor Plan Beyond the décor, the floor plan also provides some unique space options on the 100-foot houseboat, including the side mid-ship stairs. With the side entry moved back, the front salon on this 20-foot wide model is really opened up, plus it also creates easier access to the top deck from the galley that is directly across. It is ideas like this layout that re- ally indicate that George doesn't just own the company, he also enjoys houseboating and using the boats that he builds. The galley is complete with Kenmore stainless appliances including a large fridge, ice maker, convection microwave, dishwasher, trash compactor and a five- burner radiant cook top. Beaver Creek The houseboat is kept at Beaver Creek Resort on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky because this marina is close to home and close to work for George, plus it's a great dock where the Robertses have made a lot of friends. "We do a little entertaining, but it can become work after awhile," says George with a smile. "We have some people come stay with us, but we consider ourselves to be weekend boaters."
