the NFL Draft May 9, with Taylor
Lewan going in the first round to
the Tennessee Titans (11th overall)
and fellow tackle Michael Schofield
going in round three to the Denver
Broncos, Michigan had produced a
pair of picks in the first three rounds
for the first time since 2008 and also
had seen two offensive linemen cho-
sen in the same draft for the first time
since 2001.
Wide receiver Jeremy Gallon
capped the draft for the Maize and
Blue when he went in the seventh
round to the New England Patriots.
Lewan, the third offensive tackle
selected in the opening round this
year, became the first Wolverine to go
in the first round since defensive end
Brandon Graham in 2010, and the
ninth U-M offensive linemen to go
in the first round since the AFL-NFL
merger took effect in 1970.
