team. They've always got swagger on that side of the ball, but the offense is starting to get that back. "Utah is not going to be afraid of that stadium because they've won there. It's their first big test. This game is going to say a lot, and Utah has been licking their chops for the last two weeks." The Utes were not as bad as last year's record indicates — injuries came early and often, and held them back. Wide receiver Kenneth Scott, a fifth-year senior who was expected to do big things in 2013, was lost for the season on the first drive of the cam- paign. Former UCLA head coach Rick Neuheisel noted on a television broadcast that Utah had two of the top tight ends in the conference — but both were hurt by game three. Still, the Utes managed to open 4-2 with a loss to Oregon State in overtime and a seven-point defeat at the hands of No. 12 UCLA. Then, they recorded their first landmark victory as a Pac-12 school with a 27-21 upset of No. 5 Stanford. It was the school's first win versus a top-five team at home, but the victory came with a cost. Quarterback Travis Wilson suffered a deep cut to his hand and was not the same for the rest of the season.
