GETTING TO KNOW…
Minnesota Wild Assistant Coach
Darby Hendrickson
Richfield Youth Hockey Association
Q: What's your favorite book?
A: The Power of One. It's about a
boxer in South Africa. It deals with
a lot of mental strength and how he
grew up and emerged. It's great.
Q: What song is played on repeat
on your iPod?
A: I have such a variation of stuff.
There's a couple good Kenny
Chesney ones that I listen to a lot. I
definitely like country a lot lately.
Q: If you could be on one TV show,
what would it be?
A: The Amazing Race.
Q: What's your favorite food?
A: I really like walleye, especially if
you catch it that day, deep fry it in
some canola oil and add some Cajun
seasoning for a little bit of spice.
Q: What's the best thing about
Minnesota?
A: I would say the character of
people, there's a humbleness to it.
There are so many great (hockey)
players here, some of the very elite,
but they never act bigger than the
game. I think that's what makes
Minnesota and Minnesota people a
step above the rest.
Minnesota has produced more Hobey
Baker winners than any other state. A
total of nine from the State of Hockey
have been awarded college hockey's
highest honor.
