FROM OUR READERS raises the "floor" at quarterback in 2015. And frankly, to me, that's huge. I think Rudock would at a minimum provide decent-to-average quarterback play, call it a "5 of 10." Maybe his ceil- ing isn't that high (say, "7"), but man oh man, if you consider the "floor" of the current quarterbacks … it is prob- ably low enough to torpedo the entire season. That's not to say the "floor" would be hit (without Rudock), but there is a con- ceivable scenario where quarterback is as bad if not worse (potentially much worse) than it was last year under Devin Gardner. Now you HOPE that with Jim Harbaugh coming in, another season under the belt for Shane Morris and Wilton Speight, and two new talented newcomers in Alex Malzone and Zach Gentry, that QB play would be much bet- ter than that, much better than last year. But really that's what it is — HOPE. And going further — maybe the long- term ceiling of whoever would have won the job without Rudock is higher, but is it realistically higher than what Rudock would bring THIS year? In my opinion, no. I don't think one can reasonably expect anything more than a "5 or 6" in quarterback play this year. What we need is a solid game manager that will limit mistakes and hopefully make a few plays. Run game will be the focus and hopefully setting up a very stout defense for success. That's Rudock. And really, best case scenario here is that he does transfer in, but is beaten out by one of the younger guys. That still allows you to reach a higher ceiling than what Rudock may be able to provide. mark1234 • Stephen Bardo: "Beilein is the best coach in college BB." He's top five for sure. When factoring in his refusal to play the recruiting game, then top three. We are fortunate. We might have the best football/basketball coaching duo in the nation. Blue_J • The development of Zak Irvin is hap- pening right before our eyes. He is be- coming a complete ball player and not just a shooter. He can now run pick- and-rolls, score off the bounce, rebound better and play good defense. Our player development is second to none in the country. I can't wait to see the team keeps growing and getting better. alee69 • I feel dirty. Here I am on a 50-foot dive boat in Maui in really rough conditions. Suddenly the boat tilts heavily and we catch major air in the Molokai Channel. Things go flying everywhere. I notice a hat starting to slide off to the back of the open-ended boat. I go sliding down the boat to get it while I get completely soaked by spray. I crawl my way back and I hand it to the guy, he puts in on. Then I notice it's a camouflaged MSU hat … DT393 Be Heard!
