FOOTBALL RECRUITING though they do it in radically different ways. Holyfield headed to Michigan twice last summer and plans to return this year. RB MATT FALCON 6-1, 210 pounds Southfield (Mich.) High School Four stars, No. 7 prospect in Michigan and No. 13 running back nationally Falcon is a physically imposing running back whose build suggests that he's capable of run- ning with power, but sometimes obscures that he's also able to perform in finesse and speed roles. He's missed portions of the last two sea- sons due to injury, but a fully healthy year should see him rocket up the rank- ings. Falcon currently has Tennessee atop his list, but the home-state Wolverines were the childhood favorite and he's already been on campus multiple times since Harbaugh's hiring. U-M should be able to make a push for him. WR DONNIE CORLEY 6-3, 185 pounds Detroit Martin Luther King Four stars, No. 2 pros- pect in Michigan, and No. 12 wide receiver and No. 66 overall player na- tionally Corley is a long, lean receiver who spent his early high school years as a speed mer- chant. After transferring to King from Wyandotte (Mich.) Roosevelt prior to his junior year, he's also added plenty of bulk and is emerging as an all-around pro-style receiver. Michigan is outside the top five — LSU, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee — Corley released in the winter, but he's staying open in the pro- cess, and the Wolverines will have their chances to get him on campus and gain his commitment. WR DYLAN CRAWFORD 6-1, 175 pounds Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic Four stars, No. 9 prospect in California, and No. 13 wide receiver and No. 69 overall player nationally Crawford is slight in build, but he is one of the smoothest route runners in the country, which al- lows him to get open even against big- ger, faster defensive backs. Fortunately, there aren't many faster than him, and his chemistry with friend (and now high school teammate) Costello is a plus. The odds of Crawford ending up in a winged helmet are altered in a big way by the result of Costello's early decision. If the quarterback picks the Maize and Blue, it's more likely that the wide re- ceiver follows. WR TRE NIXON 6-1, 168 pounds Viera (Fla.) High School Four stars, No. 26 prospect in Florida, and No. 37 wide receiver and No. 191 overall recruit nationally Like Crawford, Nixon isn't the biggest
