PREP PROFILES When Brady Hoke was running the program in Ann Arbor, he and his staff put a premium on recruiting ver- satile offensive linemen, and that's the reason they o f f e r e d R e a d - ing (Pa.) Exeter Township Senior offensive tackle M i c h a l M e n e t . At 6-5 and 265 pounds, Menet has climbed the Rivals.com rank- ings all the way up to No. 81 na- tionally. Rivals.com Mid-Atlantic recruiting analyst Adam Friedman spoke very highly of Menet, explaining his rise in the rankings. "Menet is one of those players that improved greatly from his sopho- more to junior season," Friedman said. "His lower body strength in- creased significantly, and he drives his feet through the defenders on ev- ery play. Menet also has very light feet for a player his size and uses his quickness to his advantage in pass blocking situations." When Hoke and company were let go by Michigan, Menet released a top five that did not include the Wolver- ines. However, the hiring of Jim Har- baugh at least grabbed his attention for a short time. It wasn't enough to get the Wolverines into his top five, but he's already made changes to his the group and it could happen again. Menet's top five currently consists of Duke, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and Stanford, which re- p l a c e d F l o r i d a State from his o r i g i n a l t o p group. He most recently picked up an offer from A l a b a m a , a n d is said to have fringe interest in the Crimson Tide and Georgia as well. T h e Wo l v e r - ines have some ground to make up, but aggressive pursuit by Harbaugh could improve their chances. There won't be much time to claw at his leaders, though, because Menet hopes to make a decision before the beginning of his senior season. "At this point, I'm trying to do as much research as I can," Menet said. "I'm going to start planning a few trips in the near future. I'd like to get to everywhere in my top five. "I know I have a trip to Michigan State and to Stanford in the works. I'd also like to get to Ohio State and maybe take a trip down south." The hiring of Harbaugh at Michi- gan might've come a little too late to get seriously involved with Menet, but if anyone has the power to change that it's Harbaugh. — Brandon Brown Wolverines Pursuing Pennsylvania Offensive Tackle ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ Exeter Township Senior High Reading, Pa.
