Donatello 2: Mentor Sessions
John Snyder is a serial entrepreneur, selling his first software
business in 1997 and returning to Cambridge University to
mentor and invest in startups in 2002. A founding member of
Cambridge Angels and Board Member of the East of England
Economic Development Agency, he helped many startups to es-
tablish commercial traction and attract growth investment.
As Chief Executive Officer of keyword technology company
Grapeshot, Synder's team now runs software underpinning digi-
tal advertising trade systems. He holds an Honours degree from
the University of Cambridge, where he remains "Entrepreneur
in Residence."
Heger serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Akola Project with
a passion for stewarding the organization to achieve Akola's
high-impact mission and vision globally. She also serves on the
West Dallas Jobs Initiative Committee with a hope of creating
sustainable economic development domestically. Before Akola,
Heger started her career as a Marketing Director with Chick-fil-A
and then as a strategic lead at The Richards Group.
Throughout those roles, she invested her skills and experience
to serve Noonday Collecting during its infancy and TivaWater to
expand its reach. She holds a BS in Advertising from the Univer-
sity of Texas at Austin.
Waxman is a Toronto-based digital, social media and content
marketing strategist and conducts social media workshops and
training. He writes a monthly column for Marketing Magazine, has
been blogging for eight years and hosts the Inside PR podcast. He
advises clients on how to develop a strategic approach to content
marketing, newsrooms and new PR. He is currently president of
Martin Waxman Communications and co-founded three PR
agencies. He is lead instructor in a Digital Strategy and Commu-
nications Management Certificate at University of Toronto SCS;
on the SXSW Interactive and V2V Advisory Boards; chair-elect of
PRSA Counselors Academy's executive committee; a published
novelist/story write, ex-journalist standup MC and ad guy.
