This interactive workshop will be led by two startup and venture capital attorneys,
and they will bring in two VCs for added input. During the session, we will form a
fictional tech company, split up the founders' equity, and create an incentive plan for
key folks—all without creating tax nightmares or giving away the company. After
buttoning up our organizational matters, we will explore capital raising alternatives
and exit opportunities. The hypothetical progression of our tech company will be
designed around questions and issues submitted by attendees before the workshop,
so please be sure to fill out the form listed within the 'What to Bring' section below
before attending.
Key Takeaways :
1. You will learn the basics for how to set up a company more like an invest-
ment-grade target and less like something formed in a garage.
2. You will learn how to incentivize co-founders and key people necessary for
your business to thrive.
3. You will learn fundraising and exit alternatives and why it matters what you
do during the early stages of your company's life span.
