MICHIGAN BASKETBALL ing guard] Caris [LeVert] and [junior point guard] Derrick [ Walton] are our main ball screen players, but when it comes to our offense, one through four can come off a ball screen every now and then. " To know how to play it makes us that much better." The Wolverine: How can you emerge as one of the top offensive threats, and is that something you'd like? Dawkins: "I think it proba- bly goes game by game. Ob- viously Caris is going to do what Caris does, and Derrick, as well. With the rest of the guys, when Duncan gets hot he's obviously going to stay in there and keep knock- ing them down, because it's what he's really good at. "But it just kind of goes game by game. If I'm making shots, I'll keep shooting them if I'm hot. If not, I'll rebound, pass the ball and do what I need to help do to help us win. That's all it takes." The Wolverine: It seems like Coach Beilein has high expectations of you and is getting on you a bit more to reach your potential this year… Dawkins: "Probably [laughs]. I feel like I guess he sees the potential and wants me to maximize my ability. I appreciate it all. "He just wants me to be better, and that's what I'm working on being." The Wolverine: What's it going to take to have all of the shooters have a good game on the same night? Dawkins: "Charlotte [a 102-47 win] was good for us; we were clicking a lot. We have so many guys who can do so many things out there, so it's tough, but everybody can have their moment, make a shot here and there. "But there are going to be guys with the ball more than others, and if they have an opportunity, they're going to take it. That's how we want to play, obvi- ously." In his first nine outings this season, Dawkins aver- aged 8.3 points and 3.7 rebounds in 20.8 minutes per game. PHOTO BY PER KJELDSEN
