Smith Center in Chapel Hill to win the 4A championship. "I think about that title all the time," Allen said. "Every game is building up toward the championship." Allen has earned offers from North Da- kota and Longwood. He also has received interest from Miami, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Nebraska, DePaul, Oklahoma, Murray State and VCU. White Puts Name On Recruiting Map White didn't have the ending he was hop- ing for in the NCISAA 1A state playoffs, but he also knows the last four months have changed his life. He averaged 32 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while car- rying a young Greenfield School squad that finished 15-14. White scored 22 points against eventual 1A champion Fayetteville Trinity Christian in the semifinals Feb. 19, with Gottfried and Early getting their first viewing of the offensive-minded floor general. White has earned offers from High Point and Cal State Fullerton, and he has fielded interest from NC State, Wake Forest, Vir- ginia, Missouri and Ohio State, among oth- ers. He attended the NC State at Wake For- est game Jan. 10 in Winston-Salem. "It was a very intense game and showed the high level of the players they have in the ACC," said White, who just turned 16. "It was a good experience. "It was very exciting to see the NC State coaches in the stands. I know they let their guards play up and down, and let them play fast. They let them create for others." The 6-4, 170-pounder has added about three inches and 20-30 pounds since last year, and at times he had to clean the boards and block an occasional shot in the paint on his guard-heavy squad. "The growth spurt has helped a lot be- cause when I'm at point guard, I'll have some shorter defenders on me, and it's eas- ier to shoot over them," White said. The Goldsboro, N.C., native said getting stronger and developing more toughness are the offseason goals. He'll play with the Team Wall traveling team this spring and summer. "I want to show the college coaches that I can live up to the hype," said White, who grew up a Duke fan.
