Students need to use both sides of their brain to tackle challenging problems. Knowledge from different disciplines needs to be synthesized, because one discipline informs another. Because of GUS's challenging curriculum, focus on experiential learning, choice of content that is rich in place and purpose, and emphasis on collaboration and conversation, students feel connected to their learning. At GUS, we offer a challenging academic program, we care for the emotional health of children, we teach to the whole child, and we create lifelong learners. Glen Urquhart was founded on these principles, and GUS has offered this type of educational program for close to 40 years. The proof is in the happiness and intellectual pursuits of GUS students and in the success of GUS graduates. At GUS, learning doesn't happen to children in segments and pieces. It is an ever-evolving process in which students gain true understanding as a result of their active role in the experience. Glen Urquhart School is an independent, coeducational K-8 day school in Beverly Farms. For a personal tour, or to learn more about how to afford an independent school education for your child, please contact Leslie Marchesseault, Director of Admission, at 978-927-1064, ext. 115, or lmarchesseault@gus.org.
