COLTON UDALL RECALLS RIDING WITH
JEFF "OX" KARGOLA
C
olton Udall is one
of the leading
SCORE Pro Moto
Unlimited riders
who gained lots of
experience from
veteran racers such as Jeff "OX"
Kargola, who unfortunately
passed away in 2011 at the
height of his carrer. As a young
motorbike racer, Udall began
racing with the JCR Honda
team in 2009 and recalls his
experiences with Kargola.
One of his most memorable
timese with Kargola, was
during the 2009 SCORE San
Felipe 250, where Kargola was
brought on to race on the
JCR Honda team, because
Udall suffered from a broken
wrist. "I started the race and
then rolled it to him [Kargola].
He took off and then had a
pretty good race," said Udall.
Kargola rode for a while,
handing the bike off to Cody,
then switched again towards
the end of the race, allowing
Kargola to finish. "I remember
making peanut butter and
honey sandwiches for Ox," said
Udall. "I was really avid about
those sandwiches at that time."
The two developed a great
bond that has remained with
Udall to this day. "I have a lot
of cool memories with Jeff
"Ox" Kargola," said Udall. As
the current SCORE Pro Moto
Unlimited Champion, Colton
Udall appreciated the time he
spent with Kargola, taking what
he's learned from the motocross
rider, and applying it to his
winning ways.
