Finke might not have had much confidence before he arrived, but his success in practice against his Notre Dame teammates helped him quickly build up that part of his game. "Confidence is definitely one of the biggest things for me," the sophomore noted. "Once I realized I could make plays against these guys, coming in when I was a fresh- man walk-on, that helped me a lot going forward." SENIORS SERVE FOUNDATION FOR THE FUTURE Notre Dame's senior class ended its career on a down note — a 4-8 record and a loss to their archrival. Despite the lack of success this season, head coach Brian Kelly believes how that group handled itself will serve as a positive foundation for the future. "While our seniors won't get much- credit for it, they carry a big burden for the success of this program down the road," an emotional Kelly said follow- ing the loss.
