Sawrey NCSU Class of '75 ■ BY THE NUMBERS 3 Former NC State players who were invited to the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 28 to March 6 in Indianapolis — running back Matt Dayes, cornerback Jack Tocho and safety Josh Jones, who entered the draft with one year of eligibility remaining. Dayes is likely to be the highest draft choice — ESPN draft expert Todd McShay ranked him 10th among draft-eligible backs — but Jones was expected to test off the charts. 11 Seasons in the NFL played by defensive end Mario Williams, who was released by the Miami Dolphins Feb. 16 after totaling 1.5 sacks in 13 games and five starts this past year. He has just 6.5 sacks and has missed four games the past two years. In his first nine years, he notched 91 sacks and missed just 14 contests while starting all 130 games he appeared in. 12.8 Points per game is third-year pro T.J. Warren's per-game average after 44 games (37 starts). He has upped his scoring average 1.8 points and rebound- ing average by 0.8 per contest to 3.9 from 47 games played (four starts) last year. 23 "Points" posted by former NC State sharpshooter Scott Wood in the NBA D-League's three-point contest, which won him the event. He made 17 treys, including six "money balls" that were worth an additional point. 42 Is where former NC State quarterback Russell Wil- son ranked on Pro Football Focus' listing of the top NFL players in 2016, noting that despite playing behind the worst offensive line in football, he still piloted the Seahawks to the playoffs and even won a game there.
