WRESTLING POSTS IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCES Boilers get two wins at Cougar Duals Subscriptions@GoldandBlack.com BY BRANDAN ALFORD P urdue extended its dual-match winning streak to five over the weekend with a pair of strong per- formances at the Southern Illinois- Edwardsville Cougar Duals. The Boilers (6-4) had little trouble disposing of Truman State 44-3 before an equally impressive handling of host SIU-Edwardsville with a 47-3 victory. In the Truman State match, Purdue used five pins en route to winning nine of the 10 matches. At 133 pounds, No. 7 Cashe Quiroga lived up to his national ranking, earning the fastest pin of the day, putting down Truman State's Will Evans in 1:22. Against Southern Illinois, it was much of the same, as again, Purdue took victories in nine of the 10 matches, including forfeits in the 125- and 133-pound matches. The Boilermakers notched four pins in the match. Brandon Nelson and Kyle Mosier tied for the fastest pin of the day, as each took their opponent down at the 1:13 mark of the match. Nelson earned his victory at 141 pounds while Mosier took victory at 165. Redshirt freshman Frankie Porras bounced back from his loss against Truman State to earn a 4- 1 decision over Dillon Pousson of Southern Illinois. Former Boilermaker David BOUDIA TAKES HOME GOLD AT NATIONALS Boudia and his 10-meter synchro- nized platform partner Nick Mc- Crory earned their third consecu- tive Gold Medal at the U.S. Win- ter Diving Nationals on Tuesday. The gold was the 15th overall for Boudia, and he will go for a 16th when he competes individually in the 10-meter platform competition set to begin today. Current Purdue diver Mary Beth Dunnichay and her partner earned a second-place finish in the women's 10-meter synchronized event on Monday.
