TRI-ACE ADDS $50K TO 50TH SCORE BAJA 1000 CONTINGENCY Tri-Ace Tires announced that it will commit $50,000 in Contingency money for this year’s running of the SCORE Baja 1000 Contingency Program. The Tennessee based corporation will award $50K to any SCORE Baja team at the 50th SCORE Baja 1000 that wins the overall race running on Tri-Ace tires. “This is great news for all the SCORE teams planning on racing this historic race,” said Jim Ryan, Marketing and Sales Director at SCORE International. “We congratulate Tri-Ace on their generous support program for our participating teams.” According to Tri-Ace Senior Brand Manager Jack Bidding, the conditions of the Contingency award includes that Tri-Ace tires must be used on their race car from start through to the finish. The tire company has extensive experience in racing in Baja, with the company’s Dakar M/T II and Dakar Rally off-road tires have successfully navigated the rugged SCORE Baja 1000 race course, as well as other off-road racing events. SCORE AND CITY OF LORETO SIGN COLLABORATION AGREEMENT The Mayor of Loreto, Arely Arce Peralta, along with state officials and the organizing committee of SCORE International signed a collaboration agreement, which will reinforce participation of the municipality of Loreto as a core part in the 50th Anniversary of the SCORE Baja 1000. The agreement between SCORE International and the city of Loreto will help to generate increased cooperation. The agreement also brings a greater participation and economic pledge by the city, towards the welfare of local citizens, more promotion as a tourist destination that will increase foreign and national tourism. “Loreto is ready, so we wait with the doors open,” said Arely Arce Peralta, Loreto Mayor. The 50th Anniversary of the SCORE Baja 1000 will take place November 14 to 18, 2017 in which hundreds of racers will be challenged by a course that sits between Ensenada and La Paz, a peninsula run that has not been done since 2014. SCORE PRO MOTO CHAMPION COLTON UDALL IN RECOVERY After a severe crash that broke Colton Udall’s right ankle and back last December, the multi-time SCORE Pro Moto champion is in recovery from various surgeries. The medical expenses have become huge for Udall and his family and they are asking the off-road racing community for its support. “My residual injuries are burning/tingling sensations in my glutes, legs and feet,” said Udall. “I also struggle walking properly because I have nerve issues that prevent my calf muscles from working.” Udall and his family have set up a Go Fund Me page to help raise money for the extensive medical expenses he needs for a full recovery. “Over the last 6 months I have recovered with a positive outlook on life and the dream of one day continuing my professional racing career,” says Udall. With just a few more hurdles left to reach my bodies full working potential, I am looking at some ways of alternative medicine. I will be using your gracious contributions to pay off remaining medical bills and also multiple stem cell treatments.
