Sealed & Sent is an archdiocesan-wide celebration of the sacrament of conrmation. It was conceptualized in part as a response to Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila's Restored Order Initiative announced in 2015. In a pastoral letter penned that year, he outlined his intent behind restoring the sacraments of initiation into their proper order: baptism, conrmation and First Eucharist. Archbishop Aquila said, "Once conr- mation is restored to its original place, it is my hope that it will not be 'the sacrament of farewell,' as Pope Francis has called it, but a profound encounter with each person of the Holy Trinity." e archbishop's initiative consisted in moving conrmation up to the sixth grade to help smooth the transition in implementing the Restored Order this year. By 2020, he intends for all conr- mations to happen in the third grade, along with First Eucharist. Archbishop Aquila and Bishop Jorge Rodriguez were assisted by 30 deacons, priests and volunteers, with Father Randy Dollins, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, as the keynote speaker. 2.1 million Rosaries payed during Fatima year 73 Parishes paticipated in consecation to Immaculate Heat " It is a tremendous gift to God and our Church that these men have said 'yes' to God's call."
