Raptor Performance New Performance Parts For The Ford Raptor or Off-Road F-150 By Dan Sanchez Even though the Ford Raptor pickup is considered one of the best OE vehicles for off-road performance, enthusiasts and SCORE fans will try to improve its performance. When the second generation Raptor debuted in 2017, aftermarket manufacturers were already studying the vehicle to find ways to upgrade its engine power, suspension performance, and appearance. Many of the initial aftermarket performance parts prototypes are now, or will soon be available to Raptor owners. We’ve compiled several from a wide range of aftermarket manufacturers that have designed these products to enhance the vehicle’s appearance and performance to help Raptor owners take their vehicles to another level. KING Shocks www.kingshocks.com 2017 Ford Raptor 3.0 Performance Series Kit King offers an upgrade kit for the 2017 Ford Raptor that is made of the company’s 3.0 shock bodies. The shocks increase fluid capacity for a smoother, and cooler running over any terrain. The kit includes front IBP internal bypass coil over shocks and rear reservoir shocks. Both can be precisely tuned and offer velocity sensitive and position sensitive damping, and feature an internal hydraulic bump stop. PMAS www.pmas-maf.com Ford EcoBoost Cold Air Intake Designed for increased airflow, the PMAS Cold Air Intake features a large 120mm velocity stack inlet and high flow turbo inlet tubes. The intake is made from a high-pressure injection molded, glass-filled nylon and features an open base filter design for maximum airflow with no inserts or restrictions. The kit also includes a washable and reusable air filter. PMAS makes the intake for 2011 through 2018 model Ford F-150 trucks with EcoBoost engines and 5.0 Liter Coyote engines. The company’s Attitude Adjustment Collar (AAC) is a patent pending, multi-height coil spring collar that works in conjunction with a top load shim that can be configured in five unique ways to yield .5” to 2.25” of front lift height over stock. Ford F-150 Raptor Front Bumper Raptor owners often wish for more clearance when driving off-road. This high clearance bumper is designed to add strength and durability to the front end of 2017 and up Ford Raptors while improving air flow to the factory intercooler. The radius design is made to accommodate up to a 40” curved light bar and the side mesh grilles can be removed to install smaller auxiliary lights. Ford F-150 Raptor Suspension System This new bolt on 3.0 Suspension System from ICON fits 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor trucks to provide increased wheel travel and improved suspension damping. The front coil-over shocks are ride-height adjustable to level the truck and to clear larger, more aggressive off-road tires. The rear adjustable bypass shocks can be tuned to optimize on and off-road ride quality. The 3” diameter stainless steel system includes two mufflers with a choice of black or polished tips. The system is designed to connect to the Kook’s downpipes, sold separately. Ultra High-Performance GREEN Catted Turbo Downpipes Kooks’ stainless steel turbo downpipes provide more flow for increased power. Manufactured from 304-grade stainless steel, the downpipes feature mandrel bends for optimal airflow and utilize the company’s EPA Certified catalytic converters (not legal for California). According to Alcon, the kit has been extensively tested to deliver significant gains, including a 10-percent reduction in disc temperature rise, a 33-percent reduction in pad work rate and up to a 15-percent decrease in pedal effort.
