The NHL MAX PACIORETTY OUT FOUR TO SIX WEEKS Former Wolverine icer and current Montreal Canadiens captain Max Pacioretty was hurt March 2 and ex- pected to miss four to six weeks with a knee injury. He left during the third period of a 6-3 win over the New York Islanders. Pacioretty has been the subject of trade rumors for much of the year, though he's denied requesting to be moved. He'd notched 17 goals and 20 assists in 64 games before his injury. Alan Branch • NFL The New England Patriots won't pick up defensive tackle Branch's $1 million option for the 2018 season, ESPN.com reported, mean- ing he's a free agent.
