More Ice for St. Paul Youth PHOTO BOOTH A new space has opened next to the Minnesota Wild's practice facility to help underserved kids gain greater access to ice sports. St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter officially opened Securian Financial Equity on Ice Education Center in August. Four local non-profit organizations—Brownbody, DinoMights, Friends of St. Paul Hockey and the Saint Paul Police Activities League—will now be able to grow their programs with dedi- cated office space, storage, a large multi-purpose room and easy access to the TRIA Rink. The Securian Financial Foundation and Capital City Properties, the nonprofit arm of the St. Paul Port Authority, teamed up to create this rent-free space housed within Treasure Island Center.
