The benefits of using these sensors were water savings
of ~8 acre-feet (2.6 million gallons) per block, yield
increases in excess of 20% less time spent on irrigation
scheduling, and reducing pumping costs saving
hundreds of dollars per block.

To solve these problems, WaterBit's low-power,
LoRaWAN
®
powered Carbon nodes paired with sensors
were used to measure soil moisture and collect data.

WaterBit Carbon™, Waterbug Dashboard™, WaterBit
Connect™, and Aquacheck capacitive soil moisture
probes were used.

Schultz Ranch had the issues of being unable to
validate the effectiveness of irrigation and whether the
manually implemented irrigation schedules were
executed.
