Business value Solution Opportunity WATERBIT SENSORS MONITOR SOIL MOISTURE FOR GROWING ALMONDS USING LoRaWAN ® The benefits of using these sensors were water savings of ~8 acre-feet (2.6 million gallons) per block, yield increases in excess of 20% less time spent on irrigation scheduling, and reducing pumping costs saving hundreds of dollars per block. • To solve these problems, WaterBit's low-power, LoRaWAN ® powered Carbon nodes paired with sensors were used to measure soil moisture and collect data. • WaterBit Carbon™, Waterbug Dashboard™, WaterBit Connect™, and Aquacheck capacitive soil moisture probes were used. • Schultz Ranch had the issues of being unable to validate the effectiveness of irrigation and whether the manually implemented irrigation schedules were executed.
