LoRa Alliance™ to Showcase Millions of LoRaWAN™ Connected Devices and Strong China Adoption at Mobile World Congress Shanghai • Alibaba Cloud takes multiple leadership positions in the LoRa Alliance and will address media and visitors at the show • LoRaWAN Demo Zone display will be led by key sponsors OrbiWise, Semtech, STMicroelectronics and Kerlink • Live member demonstrations reflect breadth of the LoRa Alliance ecosystem Shanghai – June 20, 2018 – The LoRa Alliance™, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN™ standard for Internet of Things (IoT) low-power wide- area networks (LPWANs), today previewed its presence next week at Mobile World Congress Shanghai. LoRaWAN has gained rapid traction in China over the past few months. Wei Ku, General Manager of Ali-Cloud IoT Business Unit, has been elected to the LoRa Alliance Board of Directors and Dr. Xiaobo Yu was recently appointed as Regional Vice Chair, Asia Pacific. On the show floor, LoRa Alliance members will demonstrate a wide range of market-ready LoRaWAN™ devices, products and solutions. "This is a very exciting time for the Internet of Things in China and around the world," said Donna Moore, CEO and chairwoman of the LoRa Alliance. "LoRaWAN technology is widely and actively deployed, and ready-for-use by systems that require proven, secure low-power wide area networking. A rapidly growing portfolio of use cases clearly validates the strong business case for LoRaWAN. At the show, visitors will see a vast array of products and solutions that are available now and ideally suited to a number of key vertical markets and industrial applications." The LoRa Alliance booth will feature a full array of vendors representing different parts of the value chain. All products leverage LoRaWAN and represent products and services that are available off-the-shelf in China, and around the world, today. The LoRaWAN Demo Zone is led by event sponsors Semtech, STMicroelectronics, OrbiWise and Kerlink. Additionally, it will feature a number of member companies whose products and services target a wide range of vertical markets, including smart city and smart agriculture, among others. Demo Zone participants include Emdoor, Gemtek, Easylinkin, Robustel, Turbo Technologies, Lierda, Huangzhou, Shenzhen Winext, Eolane, Guangdong DAPU Telecom, ThingPark China and AcSIP.
