LoRaWAN ® LIVE 8 Health monitoring (heat stroke prevention) • Construction workers working in hot and humid environments are prone to heat stroke • Aging of construction workers & global warming effect on seasonal climate => Heat stroke has become a very serious problem in Japan • Objectives: ➢ Early detection and elimination of heat stroke risk at construction sites ➢ Based on weather information from WBGT sensor and data from wearable LoRaWAN ® trackers worn by workers ➢ Collected data includes heartbeat, location, but also accelerometer information to detect falls and alert • Why LoRaWAN ® ? ➢ Very efficient to cover large construction areas ➢ Workers can "move" the gateway around the construction area to reach specific areas (underground, high-pressure areas…) ➢ Best solution for areas where LTE coverage is scarce (ex: remote islands) ➢ Low-energy consumption compared to LTE & LTE-M
