MEASURING 507 FEET IN LENGTH, the M/V Beatrix arrived amidst hazy skies in late July, calling at
Duluth's Ceres Riverland Ag facility for a load of wheat. The ship entered service in 2009 with a
christening from then-Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. It represented a bold new design from Royal
Wagenborg, combining increased cargo capacity with reduced engine power to cut emissions.
