Essential Tasks of the Job: (cont'd)
– DAIRY
• Cases/boxes of dairy and juice products; 2-30 kg
• Typically 2-20 cases are picked per order
– MEAT
• Cases/boxes of meat; 5-40 kg
• Items over 30 kg are only lifted to waist level
FROZEN GOODS:
– Cases/boxes of frozen items; 2-10 kg
5. Manually shrink wrap completed skid to secure items; < 5%.
– Walk around skid to wrap using a roll of plastic wrap from ground to head level.
6. Print labels and complete paperwork.
Non-Essential Tasks Performed:
7. Clean-up area; sweep, pick-up cardboard and other garbage from floor (0-60 min/shift).
Additional Job Details:
Racks: Items are picked from the racks. Product may be on skids located in the racks, or directly on roller
shelves. Rack shelf heights vary. Typical heights: 2 rows (0 and 162 cm), 3 rows (0, 100 and 168 cm), or
4 rows/roller shelves (0, 80, 127 and 173 cm). Pickers must reach up to a height of 212 cm (hand position)
to obtain items from the racks. Must reach to back of skid to obtain product.
Skid Dimensions: 102 x 122 cm
Hand Tools/Equipment Used:
Hand scanner.
Single or double pallet truck; 25 cm step onto pallet truck with anti-fatigue matting.
Pull stick.
Computer printer.
