CORE racing privateer, Francisco Beltran, in the No. 3921 Can-Am Maverick
R is the current points leader in SCORE Pro UTV Stock class, after finishing
second at the BFGoodrich SCORE Baja 500, and first at the SCORE San
Felipe 250. He's only one point ahead of his nearest competitor in class, but
he says he feels good about his chances of taking a class championship,
even though funding his racing program is getting tougher.
The reason why is because Beltran is a privateer, racing on his own nickel, but he
prefers to race the Can-Am Maverick R because of its reliability and power. "I would
like some factory support," he said. "I'm just not sure how to go about getting it. But
my privateer record is strong. Maybe that helps."
While SXS racing privateers aren't on the leaderboard as often as they'd like,
Beltran's enthusiasm about being on top is contagious, and the fans seem to love it.
