Jonathan Watson - Maxxis: The steel-belted Razr XT is our flagship desert tire. As modern UTVs increase in performance, we work closely with our athletes and teams to develop new sizes and constructions that take the Razr XT to the next level. SJ: AFTER WINNING RACES IN SCORE , HOW HAS IT HELPED THE COMPANY OVERALL WITH NEW DEVELOPMENTS, OR IN OTHER TYPES OF OFF-ROAD RACING? Matt Hanlon - BFG: Yes, you see that from our varied portfolio of BFGoodrich Racing tires. From Baja (KR3), to Dakar (KDR3), to competitions like King of the Hammers and Trail Hero (Krawler KX), there's a tire we offer that's designed with that event in mind and engineered to give a competitive edge. Sean Kleinshuster - Tensor: Baja is the ultimate R&D test bed. With racing and winning in Baja, we are able to develop a product that is better suited for the everyday driver. One of the main attributes we are focusing on now is wear. The vehicles are more powerful and capable than ever, and as result, tires are wearing faster. A good competition tire should be consumed within the race. If you're getting multiple races out of a single set of tires, it is probably not the right tire for the car and not providing maximum performance. Counter to that is if wear is too high, you're adding extra pit stops. When races are now won by minutes not hours there needs to be a balance between maximum performance and wear rate that coincides with average race distances and the performance of the top vehicles.
