FACTORY UTV WARS - POLARIS
During the factory wars of the mid 90's between Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan,
etc. the main goal was to win races to sell more vehicles from the showroom floor.
For Polaris and its factory team, Scheuerell says this is also an important part of
the company's overall plan. "We can't think of a better way to authentically show
the world how Polaris RZR is the best sport UTV on the planet than by winning
the most demanding and toughest off-road races in the world. Hopefully, this
translates to a more passionate and loyal customer base."
"On top of the marketing value, our in-house Factory Racing Team allows us to
bring our production engineers into the race development, so that we get a bi-
directional flow of information. They get first-hand experience on how to make
our production vehicles better, and the race program benefits from the collective
knowledge of the best team in powersports. Finally, racing has also become a
source of pride for Polaris employees – something they can brag about when they
tell others they work for Polaris. It's something to point to and say that they work
for the best powersports company on the planet. It started with snowmobiles, and
we are carrying the flag to the dirt!" SJ
