CONFIDENCE BOOSTERS The League's far-reaching impact gives students of all backgrounds and abilities the chance to grow. 20,000+ SCORE AND RECOGNITION PATCHES 7,540 TEAM & INDIVIDUAL AWARDS CULTURE KEEPERS LAKE CREEK'S RISE TO THE TOP OF THE TEXAS STATE HIGH SCHOOL CLAY TARGET LEAGUE The Lake Creek High School Clay Target Team has quickly become one of the best in the state of Texas, thanks to expert coaching, dedicated competitors, and strong community support. The Montgomery, Texas-based school had 33 student athletes competing this year. During the Spring 2025 Season, Lake Creek took first in sporting clays, second in 5-stand, fourth in trap, and fih in skeet in Conference 1A. Several individual shooters posted top-10 finishes across the state in the fall and spring seasons. For head coach Gator Adams, it starts with culture. "We've successfully cultivated a culture of self-accountability among our athletes," said Adams, an accomplished football, rugby, and clay target athlete. "We emphasize that each individual is responsible for determining their own reasons for joining the team. Whether their primary motivation is to excel as a top youth shooter, earn a varsity letter, or simply be a part of a high-achieving team, they must hold themselves accountable to their goals." ROARING TO VIC TORY LINDENWOOD UNIVERSITY IS BUILDING A LEGACY Lindenwood University is a private university located in Saint Charles, Missouri, near the Illinois border. Coach Dunn says Lindenwood is a small school with a big campus—roughly 7,000 students currently attend the university. Small class sizes are an important draw for students, with a 15:1 student-to-teacher ratio. The university offers more than 100 degree and certificate options and provides on-campus, hybrid, and online learning experiences. Anyone who applies and is accepted to Lindenwood University has the opportunity to join the Lindenwood Shotgun Sports team. Scholarships are available and many costs—including travel, targets, and ammunition—are covered by the team and university. The team currently has 70 athletes competing, and despite its large size, camaraderie is strong. "The team has become one big family to me," said senior Matthew Keist. "Even with the team being so big, everyone knows everyone, which makes college life even more enjoyable with everyone on your side."
