This is the second time SCORE Journal has focused on top Navigators in our sport. These off-road warriors usually remain in the shadow of their prominent drivers, but are nonetheless, an extremely important aspect to a driver’s competitive skills and winning. We proudly interviewed Javi Valenzuela and Nico Ambriz of Vildosola Racing, along with Justin Wilson from SCI Motorsports Factory Polaris’s team, Robert Lewellyn of Baldi Racing, and Blake Van De Loo of Scanlon Motorsports.
Their accounts of how they got into the “other seat” and what it’s like to be with high-profile drivers, is eye opening and gives us a better understanding of how hard it is to be competitive in SCORE off-road racing.
Our attention this issue also focused on off-road wheel technology, learning what several manufacturers are doing to stand out in a market saturated with aftermarket wheels. These company’s background in Baja and off-road racing set them apart from other wheel manufacturers, with new technologies and styles that are essential for any “true” off-road enthusiast must have on their truck.
