SCORE JOURNAL 21 BAJA NEWS Perhaps the quieter season oers the best invitation of all: not simply to visit Ensenada, but to travel through it. Take the road skipped on the previous trip. Return to a favorite restaurant and discover where an ingredient came from. Drive past the familiar turno. Spend another night. Walk through the city instead of simply passing through it. Follow wine country beyond the best-known valley. Discover that the coast extends far beyond the port. Travel this way and Ensenada begins to feel like a story connected by roads. One meal creates curiosity about its source. One landscape makes you wonder what is around the next bend. That is when a trip begins to deepen: when you stop asking what there is to see and start wondering where the next road might lead. There may be no better way to understand Ensenada than through its food. An Ensenada table can hold the Pacic and the valleys at the same time. Fish and shellsh arrive from the sea. Vegetables and herbs come from nearby elds. Olive oil, cheeses, wines, breads, meats, and craft beers carry the character of farms, ranches, producers, and families throughout the region. Sometimes the distance between origin and plate can be measured in minutes rather than days. Imagine the table itself. Oysters from the coast. Olive oil from nearby groves. Vegetables harvested that morning. A bottle whose vineyard may be visible from the road you traveled to get there. Suddenly, dinner becomes geography. The story begins long before the dining room—with shermen, growers, winemakers, ranchers, cheesemakers, brewers, cooks, and servers whose work connects one part of Ensenada to another. A glass of wine can lead back to a vineyard. A dish can point toward the coast. An ingredient can become a reason to take another road the following morning. The Table Is a Map The Pacific Is Never Far Away Sometimes the Pacic is the destination. Sometimes it is simply the horizon. It shapes the climate, the cuisine, and everyday life. Follow the coast south and it appears between clis, beaches, and shing communities. Turn inland and its inuence remains. A morning can begin beside the Pacic. Lunch can happen among vineyards. Dinner can bring everything back together around one table. Scan here to watch the Ensenada video Travel Through Ensenada Summer brings energy. Harvest brings celebration. Autumn brings space. The Pacic does not disappear when summer ends. The vineyards do not disappear after harvest. Kitchens keep working. Valleys keep producing. Fishing boats still return to port. Roads continue south. And the stories continue. There will always be another table. Another coastline. Another road worth taking. Another reason to stay. Ensenada does not need a season to dene it. It asks for time. A road. A little curiosity. Because perhaps the best way to understand Ensenada is not simply to arrive, see it, and leave. It is to travel through it. Beyond the Season
